Rick Torres is a founding member of the highly successful electronic pop band Supreme Beings of Leisure, who were voted 2001 LA Weekly Music Award Winner for Best Electronic Music band. Supreme Beings of Leisure released a new self produced album in 2023, with the Dave Aude’ Deep House remix of their song “My Ibiza” reaching the top 10 in the club charts. An MI Alumnus from 1991, Rick has also worked as lead guitarist for the pioneering ska band The English Beat from 2000 to 2012. Another of his previous bands, (Bitter:Sweet), won Independent Music Awards Best Pop Album of 2007, while his band The Smart Set were Independent Music Awards nominees for Best Pop Album of 2011.

He has written and produced music for many TV Shows, Superbowl commercials, movies, webcasts (for the rock band The Bangkok Five), produced the album Midnight Conclusions for Tyler Lane, worked on re-mixes for bands like Marilyn Manson, L7, Hole, The Incredible Moses Leroy, Angela McCluskey and others. Stylistically eclectic as well as prolific, Rick (so far) specializes in: Trip Hop, Pop, Classic Rock, Alternative, Folk, Electronic-Dance, Punk, Ska, Reggae and Experimental music.
