Maurizio “Otto” De Togni is an experienced musician, composer, arranger, programmer, and audio technologist who teaches courses in ProTools and Apple Logic. With more than 30 years of experience working with various artists, including Franco Battiato, Zucchero Fornaciari, Roberto Cacciapaglia, Nikka Costa, Samantha Fox, Sandy Marton, and Den Harrow, as well as on commercials for Heineken, Subaru, Campari, Lindt, and TV programs, Otto is a highly respected industry professional.

Otto has almost 80 certifications, including Avid Pro Tools Certified Instructor Pro Tools Expert, and Apple Logic Pro Certified Trainer. He has been using both software programs since their beginnings in the late 80s, and has successfully taught more than 10K students in 1K+ classes worldwide, both on campus and online. He has taught at the Academy of Entertainment Arts and Professions at Teatro alla Scala & Espero (Milan), Soho Editors (London), Future Media Concepts (Stanford University), the Grammy Museum, UCLA Extension in Los Angeles, and the Musicians Institute ins Hollywood. His clients include Paramount Pictures, James Valentine & Jesse Carmichael (Maroon 5), Mike Posner, and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.

In addition to his teaching experience, Otto has written extensively for Macworld magazine and is a member of the Italian (SIAE) Society of Authors and Publishers & (NARAS – Grammy) the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He has received numerous accolades for his outstanding contributions, including the “2012 Outstanding Instructors” award at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA ext.) in entertainment studies and performing arts, as well as the 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 Instructor of the Year at M.I. (School of Industry & Audio Engineering). He has also been acknowledged in recognition of his strategic contribution and thought leadership at the 2022 Avid Voice of the Customer Summit.

These days, OttO has made it his priority to focus on the online environment and has become an expert in this new, exciting, and challenging field. In addition, OttO offers TTT (Train The Trainer) classes on best practices for teaching in the online environment, utilizing tools such as Zoom, Open AI (Chat GPT) and other available resources. He consults and teaches worldwide, with his latest collaborations spanning across USA, Europe. the Middle East, and India.

In his free time, Otto enjoys traveling with his lovely family and trying out great food. Along with his wife, he is the producer and publisher of the “A Queen In the Kitchen” book and YouTube/Vimeo Channel. Otto is a highly skilled and passionate individual who is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring audio professionals around the world.
