KEN ZAMBELLO
Ken Zambello graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music, and was a member of the Berklee faculty from 1982 until 2018. Ken has arranged and conducted for many of Berklee’s well known guest performers including Steven Tyler, Annie Lennox, David Foster, Chaka Khan, Steve Gadd, and Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire. He has also arranged and performed on bass/vocals with Gloria Estefan, Christopher Guest, Jeffrey Osborne and Jennifer Holliday. Ken has also coordinated and taught Performance & Pop/Rock Harmony workshops in Boston, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, and Ireland.
Professionally Ken has backed up many classic pop groups including The Coasters, The Original Drifters, The Teenagers , The Belmonts and many others. He also has played bass in musical theater pit orchestras around the Boston and Los Angeles area, and has played bass and sang vocals for a variety of rock/pop tribute bands and corporate shows. Ken is currently playing in several Los Angeles area bands at such venues as Yaamava Casino, The Mint, and The Magic Castle.
Ken plays bass, keyboards, acoustic guitar and sings lead and backing vocals. At Musicians Institute he currently teaches in the Vocal department, The Songwriting & Production program, and the Masters program.
