For this edition of our #TBT, we present guitarist and clinician Paul Hanson, who has a long history with MI. Paul first attended MI as a guitar student in 1980 and then went on to become an esteemed instructor in the guitar program throughout the ’90s. Since then, he has stayed very busy, using his expertise to work in very diverse realms of the music business.
He has written a few guitar books, including “Shred Guitar”, “Hard Rock Solos”, “Metal and Rock Improvising”, “Arpeggios for Lead Guitar.”
He’s also recorded music for TV and film trailers, including the Fantastic Four, and more. Paul also wrote main menu music for many DVDs including “The Matrix” and “The Perfect Storm” DVDs from Warner Brothers.
Paul has also worked as a top guitar coach in Hollywood and worked on films and TV, teaching guitar to many stars including: Michael J. Fox for the “Back to the Future” movies, George Clooney, Eric Stoltz, Maria Conchita Alonso, and more.
