Another epic update from a Musicians Institute graduate! Drummer Matt Laug has joined AC/DC on the European leg of their Power up Tour!

The tour kicked off this week in Germany and will see AC/DC rock out across Europe and the UK for the next few months. This is a massive achievement for any drummer, and it’s especially exciting for Matt, who honed his skills right here at MI.

Matt isn’t entirely new to the AC/DC family. He previously filled in for the band during their one-off “Power Trip” performance last year. Back in September, ex- AC/DC drummer Chris Slade shared his thoughts of Matt joining the band, saying:

“I know Matt as a very nice guy from my days of living in California…He is a very capable, teetotal drummer and will put the drums exactly where Angus [YoungAC/DC guitarist] wants them….. At the back of the stage. I wish him the best of luck!”

His talent and dedication clearly impressed the band, leading to this incredible opportunity!

We at MI are incredibly proud of Matt and his well-deserved success. His journey is an inspiration to all our students, showcasing the incredible heights achievable with dedication and passion.

Be sure to catch a show if you’re in Europe or the UK!
