TIMOTHY ANDREW EDWARDS

Timothy Andrew Edwards is one of the most diverse and accomplished media composers working in entertainment today. With nearly 100 film and television credits to his name, his genre spanning oeuvre is a testament not only to the multiplicity of his skill, but the openness of his approach in all forms of media. Edwards is an in demand composer in the world of television with compositions on the Emmy Award winning shows “Extra”, “Ellen”, “TMZ” and “Crime Watch Daily” and most recently as the sole composer of a six episode mini-series that aired domestically on CBS as well as international markets in Europe and China. He has also been heard on such shows such as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”, “The Bachelor”, “Mike & Molly” and “Sons of Anarchy”. His show opening themes for “Extra”, “Leeza”, and BBC’s “My Genius Idea” have become enduring signatures for all three programs. His collaborations include those with NBC/Universal, CBS, ABC, Fox, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, DreamWorks, and many others. His songwriting contributions to “The Vampire Diaries”, “Smallville”, and “CW Now” helped solidify his status as a diversely accomplished writer, producer and performer.

Timothy is a SESAC writer (an “invitation only” performing rights society) and an ASCAP, BMI and SESAC publisher. A former voting member of the Recording Academy (Grammys) and member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists, he is a key panelist at conferences and events and a frequent guest lecturer where he speaks on the art and business of media composition and music licensing. Edwards was featured in the top selling book “Guerrilla Film Scoring: Practical Advice from Hollywood Composers” alongside such composers as Stewart Copeland (The Police) and ten time Emmy winner, Bruce Broughton. Edwards is the Production Music Association’s current Chair of the Composer Committee as well as being the creative director and co-founder of Move Music LLC, a new, high-end music licensing company where he oversees a roster of over thirty, established composers and songwriters.

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music (Cum Laude), and teaches courses in both the Music Business Associate degree and Certificate program including Production Music For Visual Media 1 and 2, Music Publishing & Licensing 4, and Music Licensing & Supervision.
