MI SUCCESS STORY: PAOLA MONDRAGON

Paola Mondragon was born and raised in Mexico City and was struck by music at a very young age. When she was four years old, she heard Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You,” and fell in love with the song and how music made her feel. While on vacation to Los Angeles when she was younger, Paola saw Musicians Institute and told her parents that MI was where she would go for college to study music.

She first enrolled in MI’s Vocal program, but after a few quarters decided to take classes in music business , graduating with an Associate of Arts in Performance (Vocal, Music Business.) Paola is currently the Director of Communications and Outreach at Playing For Change Foundation, whose mission statement is “to create positive change through music and arts education.” The foundation has been apart of the building of 15 music programs for children around the world, including in Brazil, South Africa, Thailand, Morocco, Mali, Bangladesh and more.

Paola says,

“Now that I’m working in the industry, each one of the subjects I learned [at MI] have come in very handy in my everyday life, from contracts to publishing, from booking an act to the digital media side of it. Taking this program has been one of the best decision I’ve made so far…”
