MI SUCCESS STORY: MEGAN SANCHES
Megan Sanches grew up in a home surrounded by music, so it makes sense that much of her future was shaped by it as well. Megan counts her tastes as being very diverse, growing up with Frank Sinatra and oldies, to discovering the Ramones, Black Flag, Selena, Janet Jackson, Sade and more. When she was 14, she joined her first punk band, Teenage Rampage. After spending her early 20’s working in various corporate jobs, she decided she needed to combine her love of music and creativity into a lucrative job.
Megan said she had always heard of Musicians Institute, recalling,
“At the time, they had just started Music Business Programs and I knew that was exactly where I wanted to be. At MI, I was able to meet so many people within the music industry, which led me to where I am today.”
Megan came to MI in the spring of 2015 and graduated with a certificate in Music Business that summer. It was directly through the connections and programs at MI that Megan landed her job at Lyric House, a music licensing & publishing company in Los Angeles. Megan said,
“Through MI, I was able to intern for a few companies until I found the area (of music business) I wanted to be in: Synch licensing. I met Jessica Cole who came in to MI to chat about her company and three years later I am still here. MI definitely gave me the tools to excel. I took every element and ran with it!”
