MI SUCCESS STORY: KARA BRITZ

While growing up, Kara Britz played music with her older brother and his friend, while playing in high school bands. When she was 19, she moved to Los Angeles to attend MI for six months in the Vocal program. After a fateful audition, Kara landed a spot in Lindsay Lohan’s band and her career as a backup singer really began to take off. After her first gig with Lindsay, Kara began working as songwriter and ex-American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi’s assistant, which led to some backup singing jobs with names like Hilary Duff and Selena Gomez.

Kara’s talent and reputation continued landing her impressive jobs in the business, as a singer for Cher and a tour with the legendary Joe Cocker. Currently, she can be found backing up contestants as a member of NBC’s The Voice official band and touring the country with country artist Blake Shelton.
