MI SUCCESS STORY: CASSIDY TURBIN
Cassidy Turbin is a Los Angeles-born and based drummer, engineer and producer. He graduated from MI with an Associate of Arts in Drum Performance in 2013 and to date, has worked with artists such as Dwight Yoakam, Keyon Harrold, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Bat for Lashes, Jenny Lewis, MC Lyte, Michelle Branch, Childish Gambino, Jon Brion, The Chemical Brothers and Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore.
Many of Cassidy’s notable works have been through his work with artist and producer, Beck. He’s had a hand in engineering for Beck on numerous productions, including Morning Phase, which won him three Grammy awards in 2015, for Album of the Year, Best Rock Album, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. He also received a NAMM TEC Award in early 2016 for his work on Beck’s Dreams.
He has since earned many more credits to his name and in 2016, worked on a few singles by Cadence Kid, an EP by songwriter Miya Folick, a full-length album by producer/artist Mike Edge (Boardwalk), as well as a solo album by Joshua Winstead (Metric).
He currently works out of his studio in North Hollywood, CA.
