MI SUCCESS STORY: ANDRES TORRES
Andres Torres is a native Colombian who has been working in Los Angeles for many years to establish himself as a session musician and producer. Andres graduated from MI’s Drum program in 2012 and began working in studios as a session musician, songwriter and producer. Prior to his current record-breaking accomplishments, Andres was nominated for a Latin Grammy for his work with Alejandro Sanz and went on to work with La Santa Cecilia, David Bisbal, Noel Schajris, Jesse & Joy, and other prominent Latin acts.
In 2015, Andres Torres and fellow producer and friend Mauricio Rengifo decided to join forces as a production duo. In 2017, the duo made their presence known as the producers of the worldwide smash, “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, with a remix by pop superstar, Justin Bieber. In 2017, they won the Latin Grammy for “Record of the Year” with “Despacito” and have been nominated for multiple Grammys for their work on the song.
From October 2015 until present they have amassed 8 billion YouTube views and 3 billion Spotify plays. At this rate, Andres is about to have a lot more hits on his way, recently producing a song with Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato.
