TOM VILLANO

Working with composers has been an occupation and passion for Tom Villano for over 40 years. Tom received his Bachelor of Arts in Music from California State University Dominguez Hills. A few years after college, Tom was hired at La Da Productions, an iconic music editing firm, which later became Segue Music. Tom began a music editing career with a number of television projects including the series: SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, LADY BLUE, and a number of Mini series including, FATAL VISION and AMERIKA.

During his 25 year stay at LaDa Productions and Segue Music, Tom had long collaborations with David Newman, Basil Poledouris and numerous other composers while working on the films like: ROBOCOP, THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, THE WAR OF THE ROSES, MATILDA, SCOOBY-DOO and well over 100 others. It was also during this time that he won an Emmy Award for his work on the mini series LONESOME DOVE and another for the television series YOUNG INDIANA JONES.

All in all, Tom has worked in film music as a music editor and music supervisor on well over 150 film and television projects.

For the past nine years, Tom has taught various courses at Musicians Institute, including The Mechanics Of Film Scoring, Film Music History, and as well as scoring classes.
