MI SUCCESS STORY: PETER ABELLERA

Peter Abellera was born and raised in Guam, and at the age of 16, he picked up the guitar and knew that was what he wanted to pursue in life. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2008 to attend Musicians Institute and graduated with an A.A. in Guitar in 2010. An eventful move to the Bay Area saw the formation of The PĂC with close musician friends under the guidance and mentorship of saxophone player, Eddie M, who has played with Prince, Sheila E. and many other artists.

The PĂC was introduced to bass player, Verdine White and drummer John Paris. Together with Eddie M., they have helped mentor and guide the band. Peter is quoted saying “I feel blessed to have the opportunity to have a quality music education from Musicians Institute that help prepare me for a career in music”. The PĂC’s first single is “Loves Holiday” and has been on the smooth jazz charts this past summer. In addition to spinning on radio stations playlists throughout the world. Currently, The PĂC is working on original music to be released
later this year.

“The most important thing I learned in MI is a good work ethic towards your music. There is so much information and you can only get that under your fingers by working towards it,” Peter said. “That has helped me today by challenging myself on a daily to evolve into a better musician and player that will write feel good songs with my music family The Pac.”
