MI SUCCESS STORY: GABY MORENO

Guatemala born Gaby Moreno attended MI in 2000 for the Vocal Certificate program and later took part in the Encore Program. Soon after her graduation, Gaby was signed to a record deal at Epic/Sony and her career developed quickly from there. In 2006, Gaby’s song “Escondidos” (co-written with Ari Shine & Victor Indrizzo and performed by Moreno) won the title for “Outstanding Song” as well as the Latin category of the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Contest. In 2013, Gaby won a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist and most recently garnered a Latin Grammy nomination for her latest album, Ilusion.

Gaby’s spent much of her earlier times in her career with a band that included MI Alumni Sebastian Aymanns (Drums), Arthur Braitsch (Guitar) and Leslie Lowe (Bass). This past summer of 2017, Gaby was tapped to perform the theme song for Disney’s Elena of Avalor and in early 2018, she will be heading out on a Celebrating David Bowie tour to pay tribute to the legend with other fellow artists and his friends, including his pianist Mike Garson).
