Doc Coyle of Bad Wolves Shares His Knowledge At Musicians Institute for The MI Conversation Series

On October 19, 2023, Musicians Institute, in collaboration with Revolver Magazine, re-launched the MI Conversation series for the first time in four years, featuring the renowned guitarist Doc Coyle from Bad Wolves. The event was moderated by author and journalist Ryan J. Downey, who guided an engaging discussion covering a wide range of subjects.

Attendees included MI students, alumni and faculty, and it was also open to the public for fans of Coyle to attend. The MI Conversation Series have historically offered the audience a more intimate look and discussion with their favorite musicians and bands, and this event was no different.

Downey sat with Doc and covered various topics, including Doc’s recent summer tour with Metallica and Ice Nine Kills, insights on navigating a successful career in the music industry, the upcoming release of the new Bad Wolves album next month, and the importance of staying authentic to one’s artistic identity. Doc also answered some questions from the audience during an open Q&A session. 

To cap off the evening, a lucky MI Bachelor student named Chris Tanaka emerged as the winner of the ESP guitar giveaway, securing a prized guitar personally autographed by Doc.
